Corrections Policy

How we handle errors and corrections in our reporting.

Last updated: February 2025

ISN Media is committed to accuracy in all of our reporting. When errors occur, we believe it is our responsibility to correct them promptly, transparently, and prominently. This policy outlines how we handle corrections and the processes we follow to maintain the trust of our readers.

Reporting an Error

We encourage our readers to report any errors they find in our content. If you believe that an article, video, or any other content published by ISN Media contains an error of fact, please let us know.

When reporting an error, please provide the following information:

  • The title or URL of the article containing the error
  • A description of the error and the specific text or information that is incorrect
  • The correct information, along with any supporting evidence or sources
  • Your name and contact information (optional, but helpful for follow-up)

You can report errors by emailing us at corrections@isn.media.

Review Process

All reports of errors are taken seriously and reviewed by our editorial team. Our review process includes:

  • Acknowledging receipt of the error report within a reasonable timeframe
  • Investigating the reported error by verifying the facts with the original reporter and editor
  • Consulting additional sources if necessary to confirm the accuracy of the claim
  • Making a determination on whether a correction is warranted
  • Publishing the correction promptly if the error is confirmed

Types of Corrections

We categorize corrections based on the nature and severity of the error:

  • Correction: A factual error that changes the meaning or understanding of the content. The article is updated with the correct information, and a correction notice is appended to the article stating what was changed and when.
  • Clarification: When information in an article is accurate but could be misleading or incomplete, we add additional context or clarification. A clarification notice is appended to the article.
  • Update: When new information becomes available that materially changes the story, we update the article and note the update with a timestamp.
  • Retraction: In rare cases where an article is found to be fundamentally flawed or based on false information, we may retract the article entirely. Retracted articles are clearly marked, and the reasons for retraction are explained.

Right of Reply

ISN Media recognizes the right of individuals and organizations mentioned in our reporting to respond to claims made about them. We are committed to:

  • Seeking comment from subjects of critical or investigative reporting before publication
  • Including relevant responses and statements in our articles
  • Considering and publishing follow-up responses when warranted
  • Ensuring that the right of reply is exercised in a timely manner

Transparency

We believe that transparency in our corrections process is essential to maintaining public trust.

  • All corrections include a clear description of what was changed and the reason for the change
  • Corrections are timestamped so readers can see when the change was made
  • We do not silently edit published articles to remove errors without noting the correction
  • Our corrections are visible to all readers, not hidden or buried within the article
